Multiple Mammal/Environmental papers upcoming for 2025
I have consulted on various environmental parameters In Zoos/Colleges throughout the UK
and subcontracted by other consultants internationally.
Along with being asked to advise on UV for the EAZA Callitrichid Tag
in 2014/2015 I started working on designs for Induction chambers that were designed to be used a training device, meaning the animal would have the choice to go into a more inviting capture device (box) voluntarily but the device was designed in a way that meant Anesthesia could be pumped in by Vet staff. Removing the need for any manual restraint.
In 2016 in a UK zoo we built a prototype, which we then standardized and built multiple models. The device was successfully used on multiple Species, Callitrichids, Titi Monkey, Slender Loris, Giant Jumping Rat, Boky-boki, Dwarf mongoose, Meerkats and Bushbaby. I trained staff on the use of the devices and lectured on it at multiple events.
This device is still used today by the collection and has permanently changed how they manage their small mammals, along with removing the need for manual restraint.
